Jumplive.com Multimedia-Initiative ("Proof of Concept")
DEMO: Video coverage of the "PATS 2008 conference" (Exhibition & portions of Talks) can be *distributed* to any website, via a compact Flash video player. I.e., "TV channel syndication" over other (related) Physics/Astronomy/Science websites.
[ NOTE: there is a companion solution, a test LiveWebCast over a Blogger blog & Blip.tv hosted video-blog ]
I am working on Technology as a way of enhancing Science research & improving public-outreach. The latter is an especially challenging issue for Scientists, & there are signs that Apple Computer's mass-market iPod/iTunes/AppleTV/iPhone solution may play a crucial role. Please contact me with any feedback or ideas.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Thanks to Steve Edberg/RTMC Inc, for media-credentials for the purpose of doing a Multimedia "test".
Thanks also to Bob Mortimer/SBVAA (San Bernardino Valley Amateur Astronomers), who provided valuable perspective/information about Amateur Astronomy, it's role in Science Outreach, etc
Thanks to the support from the:
Offroad Racing community
a niche-market in the similar position of Astronomy, which lacks a medium to deliver its Content to the masses. See video-blogs 1,2, 3)
HEP (High Energy Physics) community
video blogs at 1 & 2). HEP is relevant to the whole Cosmology/Astronomy ("big scale") + Particle Physics ("small scale") grand-challenge, which is seeking to uncover the Secrets of the Universe.
The strategy can be brought over to Astronomy (& amateur astronomy), to try to boost this niche-market to the masses.
